the day before...

D-day is almost here... up 'til now, dear princess still won't make her grand entrance even after we "bargained" for a few more days. dr tan will not allow us to wait beyond tomorrow so we'll have to be at the hospital tomorrow @ 7am for the induction process (dr tan says she'll be out by lunch time!). honestly, i am having mixed feelings; slightly disappointed because i had hoped that i'd be able to birth dear princess naturally without the use of any drugs, extremely elated because we are finally going to meet our dear gal! * however, i am still holding on to the hope that she will choose to make her entrance BEFORE dr tan injects me with pitocin tomorrow *

DH finally relented in letting me go out and get my hair cut and my brazilian wax done yesterday! hehe... and since i was out, i did more shopping for dear princess... i finally bought her some toys...

and also a receiving blanket from Ralph Lauren coz ms kwekie complained that bb gals should not brought home in a blue receiving blanket (see previous entry...)
and while i'm at it, here are some other things i got the last couple of weeks while waiting for our little princess... a breastfeeding pillow that i reckon will come in handy when i nurse dear princess?

a cradle to use @ bath time so i won't have aching arms...

and a voice-activated crib light that also emits "familiar womb sounds" to calm princess...

i've been blessed...

once more!! the regular meetup kah-kis were just talking about this last week... about how as we move further away from the newborn stage, the less inclined we would be to have another one! one of us even set the dateline for june 09 to hit the jackpot (its not me! i'm terrible with datelines!)! so now i have an explanation for the weight gain, the sore nipples when li'l one nurses and my craving for meat! bring me the churrascaria anytime! i now have a legitimate reason to pig out! :P on a more serious note, will i have enough love to go around? will i have the time and energy to chase after a active toddler and at the same time, change nappies & nurse every hour? how will li'l one take to her new sibling? and most importantly - will the new sibling be a 'meimei' or 'didi' for li'l one? i suppose - only time will tell!

look what i found in li'l princess cereal this morning... 3 LIVE WORMS!!! she had already eaten more than half the bowl when i saw this... yikes! we're staying off that brand of cereal for now! side note : li'l princess' appetite received a tremendous boost around the same time - now she eats breakfast, tea, lunch, tea, dinner, supper! are the worms in her stomach still, eating up her nutrients?!?!

strawberry milk?

warning: graphic post i've always thought that bfing gets easier (& better) with subsequent children - because you are supposed to know what to do already! unfortunately though, i am still dodged by the same problems 2nd time round... its largely because my li'l prince decides that night feeds are not important & me, being the 'lazy' one, choosing sleep over clearing the milk ducts... now i'm in so much pain that i'm close to shouting out my entire vocabulary of expletives at the top of my voice! doesn't help that dh doesn't appreciate nor empathise with me! and oh, that's milk tinged with blood by the way & not strawberry milk! i had to use needles to poke and try to find the blocked ducts - that's the reason for the blood. no fun at all... i gave up after 15 mins w/o finding all the spots.
